About our cause
Jackson’s Animal Rescue, formerly Wirral Animal Sanctuary, was founded back in 2015. The rescue was named after the founder’s rescue dog, Jackson, who inspired her to set up the charity. Jackson’s Animal Rescue’s main goal is to help as many animals as possible to live the comfortable and happy life that they deserve.
We have three sites where we help animals. The first is the Wildlife Centre on the Wirral. This is where everything began for Jackson’s, over the years we have helped to treat and release thousands of wild animals, mainly specialising in European hedgehogs. The second is our domestic animals site, Jackson’s Place, where we help to care for, rehabilitate, and rehome unwanted and neglected cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs. Jackson’s Place is also the permanent home of our much loved rescued farm animals, including several goats, pigs and sheep. Jackson’s Place was opened in September 2020 and we are always working to improve the site for our animals, for the latest fundraising information please click link to website or social media pages. Our third and most recently opened site is Jackson's Rescue Cat Cafe, which opened its doors in 2024. The cafe is currently home to 15 rescue cats who were all rescued from poor living conditions. The cafe operates solely as a non-profit and funds the care of all the animals that Jackson’s Animal Rescue takes in, whilst also raising awareness about animal welfare. As a non-profit, we rely entirely on the generosity of the public to do what they do, with so many animals to feed and vet bills to pay, we appreciate any and all donations that come their way.
